Firesleeve is used protect hydraulic hoses, electric cables and wiring in industrial plants, such as steel mills and glass manufacturers and in areas of robotic welding.  In aviation, firesleeve is used to protect fuel lines, hydraulic and oil lines from heat and to prolong the life of wiring and hoses in case of a fire.

Firesleeve is made from flexible fiberglass sleeve, either knitted or braided, which is then coated with special formulation of high-temperature silicone rubber.  Firesleeve is typically available in sizes from 0.250" Inside Diameter (I.D.) through 5.0" I.D.  Firesleeve made from the knitted sleeve is called Industrial Firesleeve while firesleeve fabricated from a braided fiberglass sleeve is called Aviation Firesleeve.

Firesleeve is manufactured in long lengths and then packaged into 50 or 100 foot lengths.
